Bullion Direct -Buy Here, Store Here, Ripped Off Here

Yet another rip-off by a firm that sold bullion and stored it on behalf of their customers, only for the customer to find out that the metal was never purchased on their behalf.  This is not the first such scheme.  The article also alludes to another gentleman whom I knew for years by the name of Hannes Tulving.

This article also touches on the problems inherent in dealing with someone whom you don’t know and have never met.  It’s one thing to speak on the phone with a commissioned salesperson, or enter your personal and financial information on a webpage.  It’s another thing to speak with, or meet in person with the owner of a firm.  Only you can decide the importance of having a relationship with a highly rated and reviewed firm and its ownership, or simply sharing your information over the internet with who knows who.

These are purchases in the thousands and tens of thousands of dollars.  There will come a day in your life as a precious metals investor where the first name of a dealer principal is more important than a username and password on a website.

All Things Considered – John’s Commentary:

NEVER allow a dealer to directly “store” your metals for you.  No reputable dealer will even suggest that they have the ability to do so.

Store ONLY with those depositories vetted by the large self-directed IRA companies such as New Direction, GoldStar and Quest.

We have personal experience and history with International Depository Services (IDS) facilities in Delaware and Toronto, as well as Strategic Wealth Preservation in the Cayman Islands.  Give us a call and we will educate you on why we work with them, and have fully vetted them for our clients nationwide.
