The 1/10th oz Gold American Eagle coin is the most affordable fractional Gold coin from the United States Mint.  These one tenth oz Gold coins are the smallest size of Gold American Eagles, and are often bought as an initial gold purchase or by the preparedness minded investor.

One of two Gold bullion coins produced by the United States Mint, the American Gold Eagle is the most widely recognized and accepted gold coins in the world. Backed by the US Mint for weight and purity, the coin is also visually striking. The obverse side shows Augustus Saint-Gaudens’ Liberty walking towards you with torch and olive branch held high. The reverse side, designed by Miley Busiek, shows an American Bald Eagle returning to its nest.

The tenth-ounce American Gold Eagle is 91.67% fine, but contains a full one tenth-ounce of pure gold. The coin is alloyed with 3% Silver and 5.33% Copper for durability. These coins make a fine addition to any precious metals portfolio, collection or IRA.
