Fisher Precious Metals (“Fisher Precious Metals,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect through fisherpreciousmetals.com (the “Site”) and in the course of doing business with you, how we use and disclose it, how long we keep it, and the choices and rights you have — including rights available to California residents under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (“CCPA”).

1. Notice at Collection

At or before the point we collect your personal information, we want you to know what we collect and why. The categories below use the terminology of the CCPA.

Identifiers — name, postal address, email address, telephone number, account username, and IP address. Collected to respond to inquiries, create and service your account, process and ship orders, and secure the Site.
Customer records and commercial information — billing and shipping details, order history, products purchased or considered, and records of your correspondence with us. Collected to fulfill transactions, provide customer service, and maintain business records.
Internet or network activity — pages viewed, referring pages, approximate location derived from IP address, browser and device type, and similar analytics data. Collected to operate, secure, and improve the Site.
Financial information — payment details you give us when you place an order. Orders are placed by telephone with our office, not through this Site. Payment is processed by WorldPay through the Authorize.Net gateway. We do not store full payment card numbers, and we do not record our telephone calls.
Audio, electronic, or visual information — testimonials or reviews you choose to submit. Collected and displayed only with your participation.
Inferences — general preferences drawn from your browsing or purchase history, such as the metals or products you appear interested in. Used to tailor the offers and information we send you.

We do not collect Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, biometric data, precise geolocation, or information about your race, religion, health, sexual orientation, or union membership through this Site. Where a transaction or storage arrangement legally requires identity documentation, we will tell you at the time and collect it outside the Site.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We have not done so in the preceding twelve months. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes beyond those permitted under the CCPA.

2. How We Collect Information

Directly from you, when you complete our contact form, subscribe to our email list, create an account, place an order, request a quote, submit a testimonial, or call, email, or write to us.

Automatically, when you use the Site. We and our service providers use cookies and similar technologies to keep your shopping cart working, remember your session, measure traffic, and protect the Site against abuse.

From service providers acting on our behalf, such as our payment processor confirming that a transaction succeeded, or a shipping carrier confirming delivery.

We do not purchase personal information from data brokers.

3. How We Use Your Information

To respond to your questions and provide the quotes, information, or services you request.
To process, fulfill, ship, insure, and confirm your orders, and to handle returns and buy-backs.
To create and maintain your account and provide customer support.
To send you newsletters, market commentary, and offers — only if you have asked to receive them, and only until you tell us to stop.
To maintain the books, records, and transaction documentation we are required to keep as a precious metals dealer, and to comply with tax, anti-money-laundering, and other legal obligations.
To detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, unauthorized access, and other security incidents.
To measure and improve how the Site performs.

4. How We Disclose Your Information

We disclose personal information only as described here. In every case below, the recipient is bound by contract to use the information only to perform services for us, and not to retain, use, or disclose it for any other purpose.

Payment processing — WorldPay, through the Authorize.Net gateway, to authorize and settle your payment.
Shipping and insurance — carriers and insurers, to deliver and cover your order.
Depositories, custodians, and trustees — where you have asked us to arrange storage or a precious metals IRA, and only to the extent needed to set up and service that arrangement.
Email marketing — Constant Contact, which hosts our subscriber list and delivers our newsletters.
Analytics — Google Analytics, which measures Site traffic for us as a service provider. We have configured Google Analytics so that Google Signals and advertising personalization are turned off, and the data is not used by Google to build cross-site advertising profiles.
Security and anti-spam — Google reCAPTCHA, which screens form submissions, and our website security provider, which logs IP addresses to block malicious traffic.
Hosting and technology — our web host and other technology vendors that operate the Site on our behalf.
Professional advisors — our accountants, auditors, and attorneys, under duties of confidentiality.

We may also disclose personal information where we believe in good faith that disclosure is required by law, subpoena, or other legal process; is necessary to establish or defend our legal rights; or is necessary to protect the safety of any person. If all or substantially all of our assets are transferred to another entity, customer information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy.

5. Cookies, Analytics, and Your Browser Choices

The Site uses cookies that are strictly necessary for it to function — maintaining your session and protecting against fraudulent requests. It also uses analytics cookies to count visits and understand which pages are useful.

You can set your browser to refuse or delete cookies, though the shopping cart and account features may not work correctly if you do. You can opt out of Google Analytics on any site by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Because we do not sell or share personal information, there is nothing for an opt-out preference signal to opt you out of. We nonetheless honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal where your browser sends one.

6. How Long We Keep Information

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purpose we collected it, and then for as long as we are legally required to retain it.

Transaction and customer records — retained for the period required by applicable tax, anti-money-laundering, and dealer recordkeeping rules, and thereafter for the period during which a claim could be brought.
Contact form inquiries — retained while we work on your request and for a reasonable period afterward in case you follow up.
Newsletter subscriptions — retained until you unsubscribe, plus a suppression record so that we do not email you again.
Analytics and security logs — retained on a rolling short-term basis and then deleted or aggregated.

7. Your California Privacy Rights

If you are a California resident, you have the following rights. We will never deny you goods or services, charge you a different price, or provide you a lesser quality of service because you exercised any of them.

Right to know — to request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the sources, our purposes, and the categories of third parties to whom we disclosed it.
Right to delete — to request that we delete personal information we collected from you, subject to exceptions such as completing a transaction or complying with our legal recordkeeping obligations.
Right to correct — to request that we correct inaccurate personal information we maintain about you.
Right to opt out of sale or sharing — we do not sell or share personal information, so there is no opt-out to exercise. If that ever changes, we will update this Policy and provide a clear opt-out before doing so.
Right to limit use of sensitive personal information — we do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes that would trigger this right.

How to submit a request

We will acknowledge your request within 10 business days and respond within 45 calendar days, extending once by a further 45 days where reasonably necessary and telling you if we do.

Verification

To protect your information, we must verify that you are who you say you are before we act on a request to know, delete, or correct. We will ask you to confirm identifying details we already hold — for example, the email address or telephone number associated with your account or order. We use this information only to verify your request. If we cannot verify you to the standard the law requires, we will tell you why.

Authorized agents

You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf. We will ask the agent for written permission signed by you, and we may still ask you to verify your own identity directly with us, unless the agent provides a valid power of attorney.

California “Shine the Light”

California Civil Code section 1798.83 permits California residents to request information about disclosures of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. We do not make such disclosures.

8. Residents of Other States

If you live in a state with a comprehensive consumer privacy law — including Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon, and others — you may have comparable rights to access, correct, delete, and obtain a portable copy of your personal information, and to appeal a decision we make on your request. Use the same contact methods above and tell us which state you reside in. If we decline your request, we will explain why and how to appeal.

9. Children’s Privacy

The Site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16, and we do not sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

10. Security

We maintain physical, technical, and administrative safeguards designed to protect personal information. Information you submit through the Site is transmitted over an encrypted (TLS/HTTPS) connection. The Site is monitored and scanned for vulnerabilities and malicious activity. Access to personal information is limited to the employees who need it to do their jobs, who are trained on confidentiality and subject to discipline for misuse.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we learn of a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you as required by law.

11. Third-Party Links

The Site may link to third-party sites, including depositories, custodians, and market data providers. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their content or practices. We encourage you to read the privacy policy of any site you visit.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page and post the updated Policy here. If we make a material change to how we use personal information we have already collected, we will provide additional notice — by email where we have your address, or by a prominent notice on the Site.
