The 1878-1904 Silver Morgan Dollar AU, minted by the United States Mint has the classic design of Lady Liberty on the obverse of the coin.  A woman by the name of Anna Willess Williams was actually the Lady Liberty model for George T. Morgan, the designer of this iconic coin.  Anna was a well respected writer and teacher.

The Morgan Dollar was minted in large numbers in the years from 1878-1904. Almost twenty years later after production of the Morgan Dollar was stopped, the United States Mint had one more run of Morgan Dollars in 1921, reviving this beautiful historic Silver Dollar design for one more year.
