The 1/2 oz Gold American Eagle Coin is the top selling fractional gold coin from the United States Mint.  These half ounce Gold Eagles are available from different random years from 2016 and earlier. One of two gold bullion coins produced by the US Mint, the American Gold Eagle is the most widely recognized and accepted gold coins in the world. Backed by the US Mint for weight and purity, the coin is also visually striking.

The Gold Eagle coins are reputed worldwide for their beautiful iconic design. The obverse side shows Augustus Saint-Gaudens’ Liberty walking towards you with torch and olive branch held high. The reverse side, designed by Miley Busiek, shows an American Bald Eagle returning to its nest.

Just like the one ounce American Gold Eagle coin, the half-ounce American Gold Eagle is 91.67% fine, but contains a full half-ounce of pure gold. The coin is alloyed with 3% silver and 5.33% Copper for durability.
