The 2017 Lynx is the second of a four-coin Canadian Predator series. The 2016 coin, the first in the series was a Cougar. The Royal Canadian Mint limited the mintage of this coin to 1 million coins in total.

The obverse of the coin features the classic design of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the $5 face value. The reverse of the coin depicts the powerful lynx design.
